Recording today.

We are finally recording today. Fuck yes. We have been waiting so long for this day to finally come. It honestly seems like forever. We spent five hours in a little room inside of Pat's parents' flower shop practicing our hardest last night. We were elated, exhausted, and any in-between you could think of, but we got it done and the end product of these six songs is something I can truely say I am exstatic about. I can't wait for you all to be able to hear these.

Now, there's a drawback... it snowed. It snowed hard. It snowed close to a foot and is still snowing... I really hope this doesn't affect the day ahead of us. We'll see. Maybe I'll post updates from the "studio" if Pat brings his computer. If not, I'll post a wrap-up later on tonight.

EDIT A: Ok, so Pat brought his computer and here's what's happening so far. It is now 7:00 pm and I finished up drums at around 6:30. We spent most of the time here getting the correct sounds out of the microphones, setting up our shit, running through the songs, etc. We spent the last half hour fucking around with the guitar sounds and stuff and Pat is getting ready to start recording lead guitars for Florence. I'm not sure how long we'll be here still, but Justin has been great with recording and getting all of our instruments' sounds dialed. I might post another edit tonight when I get home, we'll see. I'll post some pics on here and on our Myspace of the day. Smooches.

EDIT B: Ok, it is now 10:45 pm and I just got home. We finished up our first day of recording tonight around 10-ish, I'd say. So far, we have drums completely finished, and lead guitars about 95% finished, we just have to go back and tweak a few minor things. We'll be going back to Justin's sometime next week to finish leads, start and hopefully finish rhythm guitars, and the same goes for bass. Then we'll probably have to do one (possibly more depending on if we go for a full day again or not) more day for vocals and any hand percussion (tambourine, maraca, etc.). Then it's in Justin's hands from there and he'll master and compress everything to make it sound amazing. All in all, today was sick. We're pretty beat since this is the second night in a row that we've played music this late and this thoroughly, but we'll survive. Stay tuned for more nonsense.

Ain't talkin bouchuuu.

I forgot a few times that I even had a blog which is weird to think about because I was clearly super into it at one point. Anyway, time to play catch-up? Ya.

Alright, uhmm, I just recently started my second semester of school at the prestigious Northampton County Community College and I'm still loving it. Gorgeous girls, hilarious looking people, easy classes, and good food. Das wassup. I'm still an education major, but I'm not sure if I want to teach high school history or elementary school music. Pretty big difference, but my heart is in both. Who knows what'll happen. The wolrd might be over by that point anyway.

I'm still unemployed, which is sucking real hard "cos" I need some flowww.

I'm also still single which is sucking more. Or less. Ohhhhhhhhh.

I also started a new band with my very dear friend Pat "Shark" Donahoe. It's a two piece for now, possibly permanently, who knows. We're called "Dead Friends." and we play ambient hardcore/ indie in the veins of La Dispute, My Heart To Joy, Pianos Become The Teeth, etc. This is something super new for me because I've never played this kind of music before because no one else was into it and now that Pat's been my friend, we've been so immersed in this genre and we couldn't love it more. We're actually getting ready to record tomorrow with my friend Justin in his basement. We have six songs which you can find listed on our Myspace, I'll put the link at the bottom. My friend Shawn has already guessed the concept of the album, so I'll tell everyone officially here and on our Myspace. The concept is, as nerdy as it sounds, Assassin's Creed 2. The song titles are the titles of the cities in the game and each song is arranged so that it sort of musically reflects either the city itself, or moments that take place during that level. It was definitely fun trying to work everything out to make it fit into this scheme and we can't wait to play shows and write more songs. We're so excited about this, you have no idea. Be on the look-out for more posts here concerning things like shows, artwork, the ep, new recordings, etc. I'm gonna try to devote some time to keeping this up for Dead Friends. instead of myself like I've been doing since I had it.

Also, speaking of bands, my other band has changed its name from Oh, Savannah to The Millionaire Boys Club. We're currently recording an ep too because we need to get money to finish our full length, haha. If you buy one, you will be directly contributing to the making of the cd. We'll love you forever.

Alright, that's it for now. I have class in a few hours and desperately need a shower. Go!
